AI is now also being used in India’s anti-Pakistan propaganda. In the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, occupied Kashmir, fake photos made with AI are going viral on social media.
The photos that are going viral on social media show the bodies of those killed in the Pahalgam incident, all of which are made with artificial intelligence (AI) and are not real. But these photos are being presented by linking them to the real incident.

Investigation of the photos:
The fact check team checked these photos using AI content recognition tools. Most of the tools showed a ninety-nine percent probability that these photos are fake and made with AI.
Lack of photos in media coverage:
We did not see any such photos in the extensive media coverage of the terrorist attack. The blurred details of the faces in the photos and the shiny texture also indicate that they are fake.

Latest information as of April 23, 2025:
Some more photos from the attack site have gone viral on social media. One of these posts has been viewed more than 26,100 times so far. We also checked these images but all of them were found to be fake.

Fact:
All available evidence proves that these viral images related to the Pahalgam attack are not real but created using AI technology. No such images are available in media reports.
These fake AI-generated images are also being used by Indian users on social media for anti-Pakistan propaganda.
