The mysterious drone sightings first began in November near Morris County, New Jersey, but have since spread to Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York, among other states.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US government have refused to call these drone sightings dangerous.
President-elect Donald Trump recently suggested on the issue that the mysterious drones should be shot down immediately.
Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, “Mysterious drone sightings all over the country. Can this really happen without our government knowing? I don’t think so.”
He added, “Tell the public now, or shoot them down.”
On the other hand, social media users are linking these mysterious projects to a decades-old conspiracy theory called “Project Blue Beam.”

In the 1990s, Canadian journalist Serge Monast spoke about “Project Blue Beam,” saying that the global elite were planning to fake supernatural events or alien attacks in a secret operation to establish a totalitarian world government.
Those who believe in this conspiracy believe that modern holographic technology will be used to project images of religious figures or extraterrestrial attacks into the sky.
The conspiracy theory also includes that the entire exercise is aimed at manipulating human thoughts, creating the illusion of direct contact with the gods in order to justify authoritarian control.
Meanwhile, the US government said that the mysterious objects were “manned aircraft” that were being operated legally.

“Upon reviewing the available imagery, it appears that many of the reported aircraft are in fact manned aircraft operating legally,” said White House national security communications adviser John Kirby.
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI added that there is no evidence that the sightings pose a threat to national security or public safety.
